Northern Presbytery launches education fund

The Northern Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana has launched an education endowment fund to support Campus Minister, needy and brilliant children within its catchment area.

Launching the fund at the Unity Congregation of the Church at Tamale, the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt Rev Prof Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante commended the Presbytery for the vision.

He said the Presbyterian Church of Ghana is mindful of numerous challenges some youth of the are going through at the various campuses both at the Senior High Schools and Tertiary institutions.

He pledged that the Head Office of the Church would make a contribution of twenty-five thousand Cedis to support the fund.

 

The Moderator and his wife, Mrs Florence Mante also presented a cheque for Ghc10000 towards similar education fund by the Unity Congregation.

The Moderator urged the Presbytery to use 90 percent of the fund to support Presbyterian students and use the ten percent to support non Presbyterians who would come to them for support.
