Moderator Addresses Ministers’ Conference 2019

The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, the Rt. Rev. Prof. Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante has called on ministers of the Church to support him to achieve his vision of moving the Church into another level.

The Moderator made the call on Wednesday when he addressed Ministers of the PCG at the ongoing Ministers Conference 2019 at the University of Ghana, Legon.

The Ministers’ Conference is an annual conference that brings all Presbyterian Ministers in the PCG together in the quest to take stock of the past year and reflect on the vision of God for the Church in the coming years.

So far it has been a fruitful time of communion and sharing of best practices among Ministers of PCG.

Being the first Minister’s Conference of the new Moderator, the Right Rev. Prof. J.O.Y Mante, during a time with the General Assembly which is one of the major highlights of the Conference, Moderator shared his vision for the Church with all Ministers therein gathered.

In his address the Moderator focused on three thematic areas in pursuit of the holistic growth of the church namely:  Spiritual witness, Moral witness and Social Witness

The Moderator said all the thematic areas could only be achieved in the context of the Holy Spirit’s power. It is therefore expedient to deepen our personal relationship with God and be filled with the Holy Spirit daily.

The Moderator also touched on what he calls “Christ Centered Worship.” He called on the PCG to avoid any form of extreme in our worship life and make Christ the focus.

According to the Moderator issues raised by him are fundamental to the Christian faith and we cannot do otherwise.

He therefore call for prayers for the church in order for the Lord to make the vision a reality and move the PCG in the ri ght direction.

One of the most important aspects of the Moderator’s vision for the Church is his plans to begin work on the Kutunse land as soon as practicable. Architectural drawings of structures were projected for all to see.

He also assured that the Head Office will support the Presbyterian Women’s Centre at Abokobi to complete the 60 room hostel project under construction. He also made it clear that such support will also be extended to other PCG centres.

The Moderator added that all the projects would done after going through due processes of the Church.
