The Chairperson of the Asante Akyem Presbytery, Rev. Bright Agyekum Kobea, has called on all ministers serving within the Presbytery to work with unity, integrity and shared commitment as he prepares for his formal induction into office.
He made the appeal during a meeting with the 33 ministers in the Presbytery, held to outline his vision and strengthen collaboration for the work ahead. Rev. Kobea urged ministers to offer him their full cooperation, support and prayers, emphasising that the success of the Presbytery depends on collective effort.
He encouraged them to provide constructive criticism where necessary and to demonstrate genuine dedication to the growth of the church. Drawing inspiration from the story of Nehemiah, he cautioned ministers not to imitate Tobias and Sanballat, who opposed good work, but rather to be partners in rebuilding and advancing the Kingdom’s mission.
He stressed that team spirit would be central to his administration, noting that “together, we can achieve more.” Rev. Kobea also underscored the importance of truthfulness and transparency in financial matters, reminding ministers that integrity and accountability build trust and strengthen the Church’s witness.
Touching on ministerial conduct, he encouraged agents to maintain proper ministerial appearance, explaining that appropriate attire at official functions reflects dignity, discipline and respect for the office they hold. He further urged ministers to prioritise welfare and home management, noting that a peaceful home and healthy relationships with spouses form a strong foundation for effective ministry.
Rev. Kobea likened his role as Chairperson to that of a CEO who provides vision and direction, while ministers serve as implementers whose dedication will determine the Presbytery’s progress. Ministers also shared their expectations and suggestions, contributing ideas aimed at strengthening unity and mission.
The meeting ended with prayer, committing Rev. Kobea’s tenure into God’s hands for wisdom, strength and a fruitful ministry.
