Moderator Personal Assistant
Rev William Kodjo Ameka is an Ordained Minister of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) and currently serves as the Personal Assistant to the Moderator of the General Assembly of the PCG.
He graduated from the University of Ghana where he read for a Combined Major Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology and Psychology. He earned a Master of Arts Degree in Adult Education at the Wisconsin International University College and another Master of Arts Degree in Ministry from the Trinity Theological Seminary, Legon. Rev Ameka also holds a Certificate in Pastoral Ministry from the Ramseyer Training Centre, Abetifi and also has a qualification in Advertising.
Rev William Ameka started formal work with Higher Ground Foundation, a non-governmental organization as the Office Manager. He worked with Scripture Union Ghana, and thereafter with the Ghana Education
Service as a Geography and Information Communication Technology (ICT) teacher at the Nifa Senior High School, Adukrom. He moved on in the educational sector to become the Assistant Registrar (General) and, later Assistant Registrar (Academic) of the Akrofi-Christaller Institute of Theology Mission and Culture.
From the Akrofi-Christaller Institute, he worked briefly as the Manager of the Patmos Retreat Centre, Akropong-Akuapem and then became the Administrator of the Akuapem Presbytery. At the Presbytery, he resuscitated the defunct Akuapem Presbytery Press and at the request of the Chairperson, moved on to become the Press Manager. His passion for the academia once again took him to the Presbyterian University College, Ghana as the Assistant Registrar and after almost two years stay, he was recommended for Ministerial Training.
The Reverend Ameka was a regular writer of the now defunct TV Series “Taxi Driver”. He has also written several stage plays, poems and short stories some of which has won him international and local awards. He has published five (5) books and whiles working at the Universities, earned thirty-eight (38) publications to his credit.
Rev William Ameka was commissioned as a Ministerial Probationer of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana on 7th August 2016 and posted to Obo District as the Second Minister. The Church asked him to be a Full Time Minister and was subsequently transferred and posted to the Head Office as the first Personal Assistant to the Moderator and attached to the Covenant Congregation, Dzorwulu as the Second Minister.
Rev Ameka is married to Mrs. Ernestina Fati Ameka, a Psychiatric Nurse, currently working at the Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital. They have two sons Ezanetor Offei Aalikem and Setutsi Oteng Aalikem.
