– Asante Akyem Lay Rep to ministers

Ministers newly posted and transferred to the Asante Akyem Presbytery have been reminded that their conduct and character will often communicate more powerfully than anything they preach. This counsel was delivered during an orientation programme organised to prepare them for effective service in their new stations.

Presbytery Lay Representative Mr. Seth Adu led a key session on “The Minister in the Eyes of the Lay”, outlining how congregants typically perceive their ministers, as God’s representatives, spiritual leaders and teachers, public figures with limited personal freedom, and examples in character and commitment.

He stressed that ministry demands integrity, discipline and visible Christlikeness, noting that congregations watch their ministers closely and draw strength from their example. Mr. Adu encouraged the ministers to depend on God’s enabling grace, quoting 2 Corinthians 12:9: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” He urged them to embrace the high calling of ministry with humility and reliance on God.

Presbytery Chairperson Rev. Bright Agyekum Kobeah and other officials welcomed the ministers warmly, offering guidance and encouragement as they begin their work within the Presbytery. The ministers expressed appreciation for the orientation and pledged to serve faithfully in their new congregations and districts.
