Asante Akyem ponders ministerial training fund
The Asante Akyem Presbytery is set to create a ministerial training fund to support ministers in further studies and capacity building, with Presbytery Chairperson, Rev. Bright Agyekum Kobeah, describing leadership development as a key priority for the Church.
The initiative was announced during the Chairperson’s familiarisation visit to the Juaso District, where he outlined his vision for strengthening ministry and expanding opportunities for ministerial growth across the Presbytery.
Rev. Kobeah also revealed plans for a Scholarship Scheme to assist brilliant but needy students in pursuing tertiary education.
Addressing ministers, catechists, presbyters and congregants gathered at the Mt. Calvary Congregation, Juaso, he highlighted the need to invest in both human and infrastructural development to advance the Church’s mission.
As part of that vision, he introduced the Presbytery Development Fund (PDF), which will support struggling congregations in completing chapel and manse projects while boosting evangelism efforts.
A key funding mechanism, he said, will be Agenda 1:1:1 – One Member, One Cedi, One Month – under which members will be encouraged to contribute at least one Ghana cedi each month.
Rev. Kobeah urged members throughout the Presbytery to support the initiatives to help build a self-reliant and mission-focused Church. The visit formed part of an ongoing familiarisation tour of districts within the Asante Akyem Presbytery.
