The Young People’s Guild (YPG) of the Brong Ahafo Presbytery has organised a four‑day spiritual retreat, dubbed Youth Explosion 2026, at the Peniel Retreat Centre, Ayakomaso. The programme brought together young people from across the presbytery and beyond for focused teaching, spiritual renewal, and leadership formation.
A key highlight of the retreat was an educational session on Presbyterian identity delivered by the Clerk of Presbytery, Rev. Bright Ofosu Aseidu. Speaking on the theme “Living Our Presbyterian Heritage as Youth,” he examined the Presbyterian system of church governance, central doctrines, and the core values of the Reformed tradition. He challenged participants to consciously embody these principles in their daily lives.
The programme also featured a panel discussion on marriage titled “The Youth and the Realities of Marriage.” Panelists included the Youth Coordinator, Rev. Ernest Atta Yeboah; Presbytery Education Director, Rev. Mrs. Ernestina Baah Gyarteng; Presbytery YAF President, Mr. Daniel Kusi Antwi; and Mrs. Evelyn Ofosu Aseidu.
The discussion addressed spiritual, social, and practical issues of marriage, offering honest and relevant counsel to the youth. In his remarks, the Presbytery Chairperson, Rev. Benjamin Appiah, urged guilders to build responsibly on the foundation already laid, emphasising discipline and commitment to the mission of the Church.
The National Executive Committee of the YPG was also well represented, with the National President, General Secretary, and Assistant Secretary present to encourage and guide the youth. Preaching on the theme “Called and Anointed for a Purpose,” the National YPG President, Bro. Paul Ayana, reminded participants that anointing precedes calling and enables effective service.
He stressed the importance of purpose‑driven living and faithfulness in Christian ministry. The retreat concluded with renewed energy and commitment among the youth, positioning them to live out their Presbyterian heritage with conviction and purpose.
