The Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, has dedicated the newly constructed Ministry of Finance (MoF) building at Kanda, Accra, to God.
In a short ceremony early Monday morning before staff at the plush office complex started work, the Moderator prayed for Finance Minister Dr. Casiel Ato Forson, Deputy Minister, Thomas Ampem Nyarko; Chief Director, Patrick Nomo and their staff, asking for divine wisdom and strength to manage Ghana’s economic issues.
He congratulated the leadership of the ministry for their resolve and commitment, calling for a renewed work culture that would inspire higher levels of productivity. The Deputy Minister explained the importance of dedicating the edifice to God, noting that the government remains committed to improving the lives of Ghanaians.
He underscored that the new office should symbolise a fresh culture of work, remarking: “A clinic is no good place unless it leads to health care delivery. Likewise, this edifice must help us to do more than we’ve done in many years” he added.
Finance Minister Dr. Ato Forson welcomed staff to the new plush office, urging them to let their work reflect the vision of a “new Ghana.” He stressed that the building should inspire a reset in attitudes, productivity, and service delivery, leading to a transformed national outlook.
Accompanying the Moderator for the dedication were Ga Presbytery Chairperson, Rev. Col. David Adoteye-Asare, Ga West Presbytery Chairperson, Rev. Enoch Adjei Pobee; Ga Presbytery Clerk, Rev. Isaac Quist; Director of Church Life and Nurture, Rev. Andrew Shardow; Taifa District Minister, Rev. Daniel Lawson; Personal Assistant to the Moderator, Rev. Carl Henry Clerk, and the Public Relations Officer, Jerome Otchere.
