60 Junior Youth Members Receive Christian Literature
Rev. Joseph Nii-Odartey Acquah, Associate Minister of Ramseyer Congregation, Sakaman in the Sakaman District has donated Christian books to members of the Junior Youth of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana to mark his birthday.
According to Rev. Acquah, the donation of 60 books is intended to inculcate in the young children the habit of reading while learning good moral values, for their spiritual growth.
The beneficiaries received books in the category of Christian Literature. They include, “How to Hear from God”, “Purpose Driven Life,” and “The Holy Spirit My Senior Partner”, among others during a Sunday Service.
Rev. Acquah noted that over the years, he has been distributing Christian books to young children to develop them spiritually, and mentally while shaping their moral and ethical lives. He also mentioned his intention to extend the gesture to other congregations within the Sakaman District of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana.
“There are many things we are unable to say while preaching sermons at church. I have decided to distribute more than 200 copies of Christian books to young people to guide their path into adulthood” he explained.
Rev. Acquah therefore, calls on corporate entities and individual donors to sponsor the project so he could extend the project to all parts of the country. “I conceived this idea many years ago and have been working towards it. Over time, I have received sponsorship from a few friends to acquire the books. To ensure continuity of this project, I need more sponsorship to reach the youth especially those in Senior High Schools,” he said.
He is so grateful to the Sakaman District Minister, Rev. Jeremiah Davidson Agyemfra, and his friends and family who supported the Free Christian Literature Project.
The beneficiaries lauded Rev. Acquah and expressed their heartfelt gratitude to him. Panyin and Kakra Nhyira Adjei of the Most Holy Heart School, Dansoman, said they have been motivated to start reading Christian books to better their lives for the future. Prince Paa Kofi Lartey of the St Theresa’s School, North Kaneshie, said the initiative was a good one that could be emulated by Christian leaders.
