Special Fundraising for Kutunse Project
A great vision is unfolding at Kutunse! the Presbyterian Church of Ghana has begun the first phase of a major development — featuring a 1,600-seater Conference Hall, hostel facilities, road networks, and more.
The Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana expresses his joy that a project first envisioned some 30 years ago by the leadership of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana at the time, is today unfolding before our very eyes in tangible ways. Indeed, a new chapter of our story as the Presbyterian Church of Ghana has begun, and one day when this chapter is read to posterity, your name, my name, our names shall be mentioned as the generation of valiant men and women, boys and girls, who came together with their resources to build a befitting multi-purpose conference, retreat and capacity building centre with auxiliary facilities for our God. Hallelujah!
Indeed, God truly makes all things beautiful in its time (Eccl. 3:11).
Our Glorious Heritage
Two hundred years ago, on December 18, 1828, the seed of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana was sown by the courageous Basel missionaries in the fertile soil of this nation. Against unimaginable odds – disease, persecution, and the perils of a new land – they planted the Gospel, watered it with faith, and nurtured it with sacrifice. From those humble beginnings, God has raised a mighty tree, spreading its branches across the 16 political regions of Ghana and all over the world with presently, 21 Presbyteries, touching millions of lives, and inspiring transformation through the power of the Gospel, proclaimed powerfully not just from the pulpit or in the trenches, but in our intentional approach to education, healthcare, and unwavering commitment to justice.
Kutunse Conference Centre
The Kutunse Conference Centre is not just a building; it is a monument to our faith, a sanctuary for our future, and a testament to our sacrifice to the glory of God, and can never be in vain. This 600-million-cedi project will be the heart of our church’s mission, hosting retreats, training leaders, and equipping us to impact generations. This vision however demands our all. It calls us to give, not out of obligation, but out of love; not sparingly, but generously, as our God has given to us.
Let every Presbyterian be challenged to compete in generosity! Let our Districts rival one another in cheerful giving. Let our Congregations outdo each other in faith-filled contributions. Whether you are a student with your widow’s mite, a worker with your monthly seed, or a business owner with a significant offering, every cedi counts! The Bible says, “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7). Let us give with joy, knowing that our contributions are building a legacy that will echo through the ages.
Imagine the day when we dedicate this centre in 2028, standing together as a church that dared to dream big and trusted God to provide. Imagine your name, your family’s name, your District’s name inscribed in the story of this project because you gave your best. It is time! Let us send a clear message to one another and to the rest of the world that we are Presbyterians, and we don’t just talk about faith – we live it, we build it, we fund it.
Together, we will raise 600 million cedis. Together, we will celebrate 200 years of God’s faithfulness. Together, we will build a future that glorifies our God and King.
The special fundraising is on Sunday, 25th May, 2025 in all Congregations all over the world during the divine services.
Now arise, Presbyterians! Give boldly and passionately as we march triumphantly to our proverbial “Promised Land” in 2028. Let us make our Bicentennial a testimony that will resound for another 200 years.
All monies from this special fundraising campaign shall be sent to the General Assembly Office through the Presbyteries into the designated Kutunse account with the following account details:
