Show compassionate leadership
– Moderator Charges Kwahu Presbytery Chairperson
The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, has urged the newly inducted Chairperson of the Kwahu Presbytery, Rev. Joshua Bossman Ohene, to demonstrate compassionate leadership.
Speaking at the induction service held at the Ramseyer Congregation in Abetifi, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye drew lessons from Matthew 14:13-21, emphasising the importance of pastoral leadership and God’s ability to use available resources to achieve His purposes.
“Jesus shows unmatched compassion. His compassion caused Him to be concerned about the needs of others, even in His moment of grief,” the Moderator noted, citing Jesus’ decision to feed the multitude despite learning of John the Baptist’s beheading.
Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye charged Rev. Joshua Ohene Bossman to prioritise compassionate leadership, saying, “Yours is a calling to a great responsibility. Your role is to shepherd the people in this Presbytery.” He encouraged Rev. Joshua Bossman Ohene to seek divine guidance and support, saying, “Every morning, go to Jesus with the little you have, and He will use it to achieve great things.”
The Moderator assured Rev. Joshua Bossman Ohene of the church’s support, praying that God would anoint and be with him throughout his tenure. Rev. Joshua Bossman Ohene was inducted as the new Chairperson of the Kwahu Presbytery during the service.
