Rev. Georgina Kwanima Boateng of PCG, Greenwich Meridian, Community 1, Tema, has challenged her colleague ministers to renewed obedience and Spirit‑led engagement. “The Great Commission is urgent and relevant today. Our part is to go and make disciples,” she declared.
Leading the morning devotion on the floor of the National Ministers Conference, Rev. Georgina Kwanima Boateng reminded ministers that the command, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19), is not optional but a divine charge requiring obedience and purposeful living.
She stated that the authority of the commission rests on Jesus Christ Himself. “We act as ambassadors, empowered by Christ. Our confidence is not in ourselves but in His authority,” she said, urging ministers to trust in Christ’s power for transformation and kingdom expansion.
Rev. Boateng explained that the call to “go” is active and lifelong, requiring ministers to step out of their comfort zones and engage the world proactively. “Discipleship is not a one‑time programme; it is a continuous lifestyle,” she stressed. Ministers, she added, must set the agenda rather than wait passively for opportunities.
Turning to the making of disciples, she warned against reducing ministry to mere numbers or conversions. “True discipleship is measured by transformation, not statistics,” she said. She described discipleship as teaching, modeling, and walking alongside others in faith, requiring ongoing growth.
She also addressed contemporary challenges facing the Church, including escapism theology that avoids real‑world issues, shallow scriptural engagement, and the need to confront modern realities such as social justice, technology, and generational gaps. “Our mission must speak to today’s world with biblical depth,” she urged.
Rev. Boateng concluded that discipleship is global, inclusive, and without prejudice. “We are called to cross cultural, linguistic, generational, and geopolitical boundaries. God desires that all people be saved,” she said.
