The Asante South Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana is set to host a landmark event, its New Year School and Bicentennial Lecture on Friday, January 23, 2026, at PCG Ascension Congregation, Obuasi.
Themed, “Celebrating Our Heritage: Building on the Foundation Already Laid” (1 Corinthians 3:11), the gathering will reflect on the church’s enduring legacy while casting a vision for future generations. The event will feature two compelling lectures.
The first, “Understanding New Testament Perspectives on Tithing for Church Growth,” will explore biblical stewardship and its relevance to sustainable ministry. The second, “Celebrating God’s Faithfulness and Impacting Generations Through the Gospel in Asante South Presbytery,” will highlight the Presbytery’s spiritual journey and its transformative impact on communities.
Speakers include Rev. Daniel Brobbey (Presbytery Chairperson), Rev. Eric Boateng (Clerk of Presbytery), Mr. Stephen Akore Agyeman (Presbytery Lay Representative), Rev. Dr. J. W. Acheampong (KNUST Protestant Chaplain), and Rev. Dr. Seth Kissi (Former Chairperson, Akyem Abuakwa Presbytery). Their combined experience and insight promise a rich and reflective discourse.
This year’s New Year School is especially significant as it is linked with ongoing activities of the PCG’s bicentennial celebrations, offering a moment to honour the church’s heritage while equipping leaders and members for faithful service in the years ahead.
The event is expected to draw ministers, elders, youth leaders, and congregants from across the Presbytery and beyond, fostering dialogue, learning, and spiritual renewal.
