Moderator arrives in Garu to dedicate projects
The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, has arrived in Garu in the Upper Presbytery to begin a series of official engagements.
The highlight of his visit is the dedication of the Presbyterian Hospital – Garu and the Office Complex for the Agricultural Station – Garu, a huge project that underscores the church’s commitment to holistic mission.
He was warmly welcomed by the Chairperson of the Upper Presbytery, Rev. Roger Awudibah Wegurih; the Presbytery Clerk, Rev. Anthony Ayeida Asarah; the Presbytery Lay Representative to the General Assembly Council, Mr. Richard A. Akolgo; and the Garu District Minister, Rev. Isaac L. Yidana.
The National Director of Development and Social Services (DSS), Mrs. Rebecca Teiko Sabah, together with officials from the Presbyterian Hospital – Garu and the Agricultural Station – Garu, were also present to welcome the Moderator.
The Moderator’s presence in Garu forms part of a broader northern tour, highlighting the Presbyterian Church of Ghana’s dual mission of spiritual renewal and social transformation. Through worship, education, healthcare, and agricultural development, the church continues to impact communities across the nation.
