Uphold unity, grow in Christ – Moderator
The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, has re‑echoed the need for Christ‑centredness and unity in the church, stressing that without these foundations, the mandate of evangelism, discipleship, and growth cannot be effectively pursued.
Speaking at the Ebenezer Congregation, Amasaman, on the fourth day of his pastoral visit to the Ga West Presbytery, the Moderator encouraged the congregation to deepen their unity, strengthen their fellowship, and grow firmly in Christ.
He reminded members that unity is a divine expectation, rooted in the very nature of God. “Be united. Let us be one because God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—are one,” he said, urging the congregation to reflect the harmony of the Trinity in their relationships and communal life.
The Moderator urged the members to cultivate a strong spiritual life marked by prayer, fellowship, and steadfast faith. “I want to hear that your growth and faith in Christ have increased, and that your fellowship and prayer life are flourishing,” he added, emphasizing that spiritual maturity is essential for the health and witness of every congregation.
He commended the Ebenezer Congregation for their dedication and active participation in the life of the church, urging them to continue building a community where love, discipline, and unity prevail.
He ended by assuring the congregation of his prayers and support, calling on them to remain committed to Christ and to the mission of the church as the PCG prepares for its historic Bicentennial Celebration in 2028.
