The Presbyterian Church of Ghana has formally inaugurated the 2027 National Crusade Ad Hoc Planning Committee, signalling the start of preparations toward the next national evangelistic crusade. The inauguration, held virtually on Wednesday was organised by the Department of Mission and Evangelism.
The Moderator of the General Assembly, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, led the session, offering the welcome, prayers, exhortation, and the Terms of Reference that will guide the Committee’s work. He charged members to approach their assignment with diligence, unity, and prayerful commitment to ensure a successful national crusade.
In his remarks, the Moderator commended the Brong Ahafo and Asante Presbyteries for the impressive successes achieved during the 2025 and 2026 National Crusades held in Sunyani and Kumasi respectively. He praised their organisation, evangelistic impact, and the strong mobilisation that characterised both crusades.
He therefore expressed confidence that the Akuapem and Akyem Abuakwa Presbyteries, who will co‑host the 2027 edition, will work hard and deliver similar or even greater success. He encouraged them to build on the momentum created by previous crusades and to mobilise their districts, congregations, and mission structures effectively.
The Director for Mission and Evangelism, Rev. Dr. E.K. Sarbah, conducted the roll call and coordinated interactions with members. Committee members were given the opportunity to ask questions, seek clarification, and share initial perspectives on the upcoming national crusade.
The inauguration marks the beginning of a nationwide mobilisation effort aimed at deepening evangelism, strengthening mission outreach, and preparing the church for a major national crusade in 2027.
