Significant progress has taken placed on the Kutunse Project, the church’s flagship Bicentennial Legacy initiative. The 1,600‑seater conference centre, one of the major structures under construction is now approaching the roofing stage, with trusses already being laid.
The Moderator visited the site on Tuesday, a day before arriving in Abetifi–Kwahu for the 26th General Assembly, and expressed gratitude to congregations, committees, and individual donors supporting the project. He encouraged members to continue giving, especially ahead of Sunday’s fundraising event.
In his address at the 26th General Assembly, the Moderator again celebrated contributors to the Kutunse Project, thanking the Fundraising and Technical Committees and all who have made substantial donations. “God richly bless you all,” he said.
His address also included moments of appreciation for dedicated service across the church. He thanked the Clerk of the General Assembly, Directors and Staff, former officers, Ministers, Catechists, Presbyters, Group Executives, and members worldwide for their commitment to the PCG.
He reserved praise for Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Kwabla Sarbah, Director of Mission and Evangelism, who completes two full terms marked by notable growth, and Mr. Sam Sarpong Appiah, who ends 38 years of service, including 27 years as Health Coordinator.
The Moderator also acknowledged members exiting the General Assembly Council for their distinguished service, and expressed appreciation to his Personal Assistant and Chaplain, Rev. Carl Henry Clerk, and his driver, Mr. Sylvester Antobam, for their diligence.
He urged the church to remain united and steadfast. “May we never give up in spite of the opposition and difficulties,” he said, calling on Presbyterians to build strong spiritual, cultural, and physical foundations to the glory of God.
