The Bicentennial Ecumenical Pilgrimage of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) continued with the latest lap being a significant visit to the Evangelical Mission in Solidarity (EMS) Secretariat in Stuttgart, where the delegation received a warm and heartfelt welcome from the leadership of the mission organisation.
Rev. Dr. Dieter Heitmann, speaking on behalf of EMS, expressed deep appreciation for the visit, describing it as a reaffirmation of the long and fruitful relationship between EMS and the PCG.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to welcome our sisters and brothers from the Presbyterian Church of Ghana. Their visit reflects the strength of our long-standing relationship and our shared commitment to living out the Gospel through mutual learning, solidarity, and service,” he said.
The delegation comprises church leaders, ministers, congregants and staff from the PCG Head Office who are undertaking a series of institutional visits, worship services and engagements with partner churches and mission organisations across Europe.
Among them are Rev. David Aboagye‑Danquah, Clerk of the General Assembly, and Rev. Andrew Odjawo, Director of the Department of Ecumenical and Social Relations and Vice President of EMS.
The visit to the EMS Secretariat forms part of the broader Bicentennial Ecumenical Pilgrimage, a major highlight of the PCG’s celebration of 200 years of Presbyterian witness. The pilgrimage honours the legacy of early missionaries whose work laid the foundations of Presbyterianism in Ghana, while strengthening relationships and partnerships that continue to shape the Church’s global mission.
The engagement in Stuttgart further deepens the PCG’s collaboration with EMS, reinforcing shared commitments to mission, justice, development and Christian fellowship.
