The Clerk of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rev. David Aboagye‑Danquah, has described PCG Connect as one of the Church’s most valuable platforms for strengthening transparency, deepening understanding, and bringing the work of its departments closer to members across the world.
He made the remarks during the special PCG Connect session featuring the Department of Ecumenical and Social Relations (ESR), held on Saturday, 12th September 2026, at the PCG Resurrection Congregation, Stuttgart, within the Europe Presbytery.
Addressing viewers joining from Ghana, Germany, Europe and beyond, the Clerk said the Church does not exist in isolation, and its calling includes building relationships, promoting cooperation, and engaging constructively with other Christian bodies and societal stakeholders.
He noted that while many members know the names of departments, they may not fully appreciate the responsibilities entrusted to them or the impact of their work. “This is precisely what makes PCG Connect so valuable,” he said, emphasising that the platform bridges the gap between departments and the wider Church community.
Rev. Aboagye‑Danquah highlighted the significance of hosting the session from Germany, describing it as a reminder that the PCG’s mission extends beyond Ghana’s borders. He encouraged members to learn more about the ESR Department’s mandate, relationships, opportunities and challenges, and commended its Director, Rev. Andrews Jackson Teye Odjawo, for his leadership.
Reflecting on the PCG Connect journey since its launch on 17th March 2026, the Clerk outlined the presentations delivered by various departments: Social Services on health and community development; Mission and Evangelism on discipleship and outreach; Education on academic excellence and character formation; Administration and HR on governance and staff development; and Church Life and Nurture on spiritual growth and mature Christian living.
He also recalled the special post‑Assembly edition, which helped members understand the decisions and direction of the 26th General Assembly, stressing that the Assembly belongs to the entire Church, not only delegates. Rev. Aboagye‑Danquah concluded by reminding members that advancing the PCG’s mission is a shared responsibility across departments, Presbyteries, congregations, institutions and individuals.
