Rev. Charles Baah‑Ankrah, Chairperson of the West Akyem Presbytery, has called on District Ministers to move beyond their comfort zones and adopt a proactive, innovative approach to ministry that promotes holistic transformation in both the church and the wider community.
He made the call during a face‑to‑face engagement with District Ministers, where he outlined his vision and strategic priorities for the Presbytery. Rev. Baah‑Ankrah encouraged ministers to embrace new opportunities, think creatively, and work intentionally towards the spiritual, social and economic development of the communities they serve.
Sharing key areas of focus, the Chairperson announced plans to strengthen the Presbytery’s mission through targeted interventions in education, economic sustainability, infrastructure and communication. In education, he revealed plans to establish a Presbyterian Senior High School at Akyem Awisa, aimed at expanding access to quality secondary education for basic school graduates within and beyond the Presbytery.
To enhance economic sustainability, Rev. Baah‑Ankrah disclosed a proposal for a Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) project, expected to generate revenue for the Presbytery while providing reliable energy supply to residents of Akyem Ayirebi and neighbouring communities.
On infrastructure, he announced plans for a modern Conference Hall and Hospitality Centre in Akyem Oda, designed to serve both church programmes and public events within the Birim Central Municipality.
Rev. Baah‑Ankrah also stressed the importance of effective communication and evangelism, noting that the Presbytery will strengthen its Media Ministry through the acquisition of modern equipment to enhance publicity and expand outreach locally and internationally.
District Ministers expressed appreciation for the Chairperson’s vision and pledged their full support towards the successful implementation of the initiatives. The meeting formed part of ongoing efforts to deepen collaboration, strengthen ministerial engagement and chart a clear path for sustainable growth within the West Akyem Presbytery.
