Rev. Wilberforce Takyi, Chairperson of the Brong Ahafo Presbytery, has underscored the centrality of Christian character formation in the life and growth of the church in his familiarisation tour of Districts across the Presbytery.
He said nurturing believers to grow in grace and in the knowledge of Christ will be a defining priority of his administration. Beginning the tour from the Bechem Zone on Monday, 21st September 2026, Rev. Takyi, accompanied by Presbytery Directors, visited the Duayaw Nkwanta and Techimantia Districts.
From Victory Congregation, Terchire, to Samuel Otu Memorial Congregation, Techimantia, the team was received with enthusiasm and warmth from leaders and members eager to engage their new Chairperson.
Reflecting on Matthew 28:18–20, Rev. Takyi called the Church to rekindle her passion for fulfilling the Great Commission with urgency. He reminded members that proclaiming the Gospel and winning souls is only the beginning; the greater work lies in systematic discipleship, where believers are nurtured into maturity and shaped by Christlike character.
Rev. Takyi encouraged members to remain committed to the Presbytery’s One Member, One-Cedi financial policy and to support other intervention initiatives aimed at strengthening the Presbytery’s development. He outlined visionary plans, including resourcing each of the four zones with buses, undertaking Income Generating Projects (IGPs) for Districts, and acquiring a sound system for Presbytery programmes.
He also introduced the Friends of the Presbytery initiative, through which members may voluntarily make specified monthly contributions towards Presbytery projects. The idea received immediate support, with some members making donations on the spot.
The familiarisation tour will continue in other Districts within the Bechem Zone and the Goaso Zone in the coming days. It aims to deepen engagement between leadership and members, strengthen participation in the church’s democratic governance, and advance the mission of the Triune God.
