The Presbyterian Church of Ghana will today see major transitions across its governing structure as seven Presbytery Chairpersons, five Presbytery Lay Representatives to the General Assembly Council, and eight Presbytery Clerks end their terms of service on August 31, 2026.
The outgoing Presbytery Chairpersons are the Presbytery Chairperson for Central, Rev. Fiifi Foh Arkhurst; the Presbytery Chairperson for Western, Rev. Dr. Joseph Apea Assamoah; the Acting Presbytery Chairperson for Asante Akyem, Rev. Mavis Hannah Yeboah; the Presbytery Chairperson for West Akyem, Rev. Raymond Baah Abekah; the Presbytery Chairperson for Brong Ahafo, Rev. Benjamin Appiah; the Presbytery Chairperson for Ga West, Rev. Enoch Adjei Pobee; and the Presbytery Chairperson for Dangme Tongu, Rev. Abraham Djaba Okai.
Five Presbytery Lay Representatives are also leaving office. They are the Presbytery Lay Representative for West Akyem, Mrs. Comfort Osei Boakye; the Presbytery Lay Representative for Northern, Prof. Francis Kweku Amagloh; the Presbytery Lay Representative for Brong Ahafo, Mrs. Nancy Arthur; the Presbytery Lay Representative for NAAP, Prof. Mrs. Mabel Asante; and the Presbytery Lay Representative for Europe, Mrs. Gifty Schubert.
Eight Presbytery Clerks are completing their terms. They include the Presbytery Clerk for Upper, Rev. Anthony Ayeida Asarah; the Presbytery Clerk for Central, Rev. Albert Baffoe Koomson; the Presbytery Clerk for Asante, Rev. Samuel Adu Gyamfi; the Presbytery Clerk for Kwahu, Rev. Frank Twumasi Nkum; the Presbytery Clerk for Sekyere, Rev. Seth Owusu Koranteng; the Presbytery Clerk for NAAP, Rev. Dr. Ransford K. Awuku Gyampoh; the Presbytery Clerk for Dangme Tongu, Rev. Sophia Ogerkuor Kitcher; and the Presbytery Clerk for Ga, Rev. Isaac Quist.
Their exit marks an important moment in the life of the Presbyteries as they prepare to welcome new leadership on Tuesday, 1 September 2026, to continue strengthening mission, administration and congregational life of the church worldwide.
