The Presbyterian Church of Ghana and its partners have disbursed GHS700,000 to members affected by the recent floods in the Ga and Ga West Presbyteries, offering vital relief to households whose homes and belongings were severely damaged.
Each beneficiary received GHS1,100 through electronic transfer as a token of support from the church and its partners. The intervention was announced by the Director of Development and Social Services, Mrs. Teiko Sabah, who explained that the support was directed at individual members whose properties were submerged during the floods.
She noted that the electronic disbursement ensured quick and secure delivery of funds to affected families, enabling them to meet urgent basic needs such as medication.
The impact of the support has already been felt among beneficiaries. In a brief note of appreciation, Mr. William Kwabla Ocloo of Lashibi thanked the church for the assistance, describing it as timely and deeply reassuring. He wrote, “Your thoughtful gesture has greatly eased the burden caused by the disaster and provided much‑needed relief during this challenging period.” He added that the support had made a meaningful difference in his recovery efforts.
The church’s intervention reflects its commitment to holistic ministry, offering not only spiritual care but also practical support to members in distress. The Development and Social Services Department has reaffirmed its dedication to monitoring affected communities and working with partners to provide additional assistance where needed.
