The Upper Presbytery Chairperson, Rev. Roger Awudiba Wegurih, has called on Presbyterian men across the country to commit themselves to raising responsible, disciplined and spiritually grounded leaders who will carry forward the Church’s heritage.
He made the call while addressing participants at the National Annual Delegates Conference of the Men’s Fellowship, currently underway in Tamale. The conference, held from 10th to 13th September 2026 at the Unity Congregation, Sakasaka, is on the theme: “Celebrating Our Heritage: Building on the Foundation Already Laid – Raising the Next Generation,” with scriptural references from 1 Corinthians 3:11, Colossians 2:6–7, and 2 Timothy 2:2.
Rev. Wegurih reminded delegates that the Presbyterian tradition has always emphasised responsibility, discipline and service, noting that the transformation of society is a collective calling for all Presbyterians. He stressed that Presbyterian men must lead national transformation, setting standards for others to follow in integrity, hard work and faithfulness.
He highlighted the contributions of the Church’s forebears, describing them as pioneers who laid a strong foundation of mission, education, discipline and community development. “Our forebears began the transformation before us, and we are urged to carry it on,” he said, referencing 2 Timothy 2:2 as a charge to pass on sound teaching and exemplary leadership to future generations.
Rev. Wegurih encouraged the Men’s Fellowship to deepen mentorship, strengthen family life, support congregational growth and invest in the next generation of boys and young men who will inherit the Church’s mission. He emphasised that raising responsible men is essential to sustaining the PCG’s witness and ensuring continuity of its values.
