Newly inducted Chairperson of the Upper Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), Rev. Roger Awudibah Wegurih, has made a heartfelt appeal for peace in Bawku, calling on all factions to set aside differences and embrace unity for the sake of development.
Speaking at his induction ceremony, Rev. Wegurih hammered on the urgent need for brotherliness and reconciliation. “I also take this opportunity to call on my father, my brothers, my children and other colleagues in the Bawku area to allow peace to reign for the sake of development,” he said.
He identified poverty and underdevelopment—not fellow citizens—as the true adversaries facing the region. “We have one common enemy. I said one common enemy that the people of Bawku and its environment face. We only have one enemy, and that enemy is not a human being but poverty and underdevelopment,” he stressed.
Rev. Wegurih urged residents to transform their energies and resources into tools for progress. “I am calling on all in the Bawku enclave to allow peace to reign. We can do this by turning your weapons into productive implements,” he said.
