The newly inducted Clerk of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), Rev. David Aboagye-Danquah, has described himself as “a product of grace,” acknowledging God’s favour and the support of the Church in his journey to the highest administrative office.
Speaking after his induction service at the Most Holy Trinity Congregation, Community 18, Tema, Rev. Aboagye-Danquah humbly noted that he is not the most qualified, wise, or experienced minister, nor the most righteous or well-connected.
“I am a product of grace,” he declared, expressing deep gratitude to God and the PCG for entrusting him with this sacred responsibility. He paid glowing tribute to the Moderator of the General Assembly, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, for his guidance, and to the immediate past Clerk, Rev. Dr. Godwin Nii Noi Odonkor, whom he described as “an institution” within the PCG.
Rev. David Aboagye-Danquah added that Dr. Nii Noi Odonkor’s vast experience across various offices and levels of the Church makes him a valuable consultant whom he will continue to seek counsel from. Rev. Aboagye-Danquah also expressed appreciation to the congregations he has served throughout his ministry, mentioning them with gratitude.
He commended the Asante Akyem Presbytery, where he served as Chairperson before his election as Clerk, for their support and encouragement. He concluded by thanking the many individuals who have followed and supported his ministry, affirming that his new role is a continuation of service rooted in humility, faith, and grace.
