Moderator Reaffirms PCG’S Holistic Mission, Calls for Global Peace
In his 2025 Christmas message, the Moderator of the General Assembly of the PCG, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye has reaffirmed the church’s support for Ghana’s national reset agenda, which seeks to chart a renewed path of integrity, justice, and shared prosperity.
The Moderator described the PCG’s enduring legacy as Ghana’s oldest continuously existing denomination, noting that its holistic ministry spans evangelism, education, health, agriculture, and economic empowerment. “This is a legacy we cherish, a legacy built not on human ingenuity, but on the foundation already laid, which is Jesus Christ,” he said.
Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye emphasised that the PCG’S mission remains clear and unwavering: to serve as spiritual, moral, social, and environmental witnesses to the Gospel in contemporary society. He urged ecumenical bodies, civil society, and industry to collaborate in advancing integrity and safeguarding the common good.
Extending his message beyond Ghana, the Moderator prayed that “the Light that once shone in Bethlehem shine anew upon our continent, guiding Africa toward peace, stability as well as flourishing economies.” He added that this same light should bring healing to a world fractured by conflict, inequity, and despair.
“As we rejoice in the birth of the Prince of Peace, may joy abide in your hearts, may peace guard your homes, and may the love of God strengthen your witness in the world”, he concluded.
