The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, has extended an invitation to the Chief of Akwamu, Odeneho Kwafo Akoto III, and his subjects to join the church’s bicentennial celebration, which will climax in Accra in December 2028.
The Moderator made the call during a visit to the chief’s palace, where he led a delegation comprising the Clerk of General Assembly, Rev. David Aboagye-Danquah; Volta Presbytery Chairperson, Rev. Felix Akresu Anim-Danso; Volta Presbytery Clerk, Rev. John Atta Kwame Donkor; and Akwamu District Minister, Rev. George Owusu Afram.
He described the bicentennial as a massive national event that would celebrate the church’s heritage and mission. He also highlighted the PCG’s evangelism and growth initiative, Agenda 2Million, and invited traditional leaders to support the vision alongside Odeneho Kwafo Akoto III, a proud member of the PCG.
In response, Odeneho Kwafo Akoto III lauded the PCG leadership for the visit and affirmed his commitment to the bicentennial celebration. He pledged continued support for the Volta Presbytery and the PCG as a whole, assuring the Moderator of his readiness to participate fully in the upcoming festivities.
