Visiting Brong Ahafo Presbytery Chairperson, Rev. Benjamin Appiah, who is at the Ramseyer Training Centre (RTC) as the Senior-Most-in-Residence to mentor ministerial students, has charged the trainees to see the home as the place where ministry truly begins, arguing that no good minister abandons his home.
“Spend quality time with your family. Take good care of yourself, your family, and your extended family. Prioritise your family,” he urged while interacting with students on the first evening of his mentorship session. Rev. Appiah stressed that ministry should never make anyone absent from home. “If you destroy your family, you can’t do any meaningful ministry. Maintain a balanced family life,” he added.
His visit has been described by student ministers as refreshing and timely, offering not only theological insight but also practical wisdom for life and leadership beyond the classroom.
Rev. Appiah cautioned that character failure can occur at any stage of ministry, regardless of one’s position or achievements. “It is easy for you to fall irrespective of where you have gotten to,” he warned, calling on students to uphold integrity, discipline, and spiritual consistency.
