Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential aspirant and member of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Hon. Dr. Bryan Acheampong, on Tuesday morning returned to the General Assembly Office, Church House, Accra, to express gratitude to God for a successful campaign.
He was warmly received by the Moderator, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, and the Clerk of the General Assembly, Rev. David Aboagye-Danquah. Dr. Bryan Acheampong explained to the church leaders that although he placed third in the NPP presidential primaries, it was important to show appreciation to God for the entire experience.
“I remember before it all started, I came here to ask for your prayers. Having traveled across the country over the past few months, it is important that I return to express my gratitude to God and to the church for your prayers,” Dr. Bryan Acheampong said as he briefed the Moderator, the Clerk of the General Assembly, and the Chairpersons for Ga and Ga West Presbyteries, Rev. Col. David Adoteye-Asare, and Rev. Enoch Adjei Pobee, respectively.
The Moderator commended Dr. Acheampong and his campaign team for putting God first in all things, noting that a grateful heart pleases the Lord. In June last year, before the businessman and devout presbyterian embarked on the NPP presidential primary campaign, he visited the General Assembly office to solicit prayers from the church.
The Ga and Ga West Presbytery Chairpersons, together with the Moderator, took turns to pray for Dr. Bryan Acheampong and his team then. On Tuesday morning, the prayer session was repeated this time, a thanksgiving one, reflecting the Biblical instruction that we should give thanks to God in all things.
