The Presbyterian Church of Ghana has pledged its full commitment to the renewal and rebuilding of the Fellowship of Christian Councils and Churches in West Africa (FECCIWA).
Speaking at the extraordinary meeting of FECCIWA in Abokobi, Accra, the Clerk of General Assembly, Rev. David Aboagye-Danquah, said the PCG was proud to host such an important gathering, which signals its dedication to the new vision and renewal of the body.
Rev. Aboagye-Danquah urged delegates to embrace repentance and humility as they chart a new course for FECCIWA. He called for hard work, selflessness, and a genuine desire to give meaning to partnership, stressing that only through humility and sacrifice can the fellowship achieve its mission. “We must let go of self and give way for the real meaning of partnership,” he said.
He further encouraged stronger fellowship across the sub-region, expressing hope that participants would leave the conference with a deep sense of fulfillment. “Members must leave here knowing that it was good that they came,” he added.
The Clerk prayed that the spirit of Lent and Ash Wednesday would guide the deliberations of the conference, reminding delegates that the season of reflection and renewal should inspire their work. “May the spirit of Lent play a part in this conference,” he said, calling on FECCIWA to rise with renewed strength and unity.
The extraordinary meeting is seen as a turning point for FECCIWA, as leaders from across West Africa gather to rebuild the fellowship’s structures and restore its prophetic voice in the sub-region.
