Adabraka Ascension congregant gives to Kutunse Project
In a demonstration of gratitude and devotion, Mrs. Faustina Quartey, a member of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Ascension Congregation, Adabrka, celebrated her 72nd birthday by donating funds in support of the Kutunse Project.
Her birthday, observed on 21st January, was transformed into what she described as an “altar of praise”—an opportunity not only to thank God for another year of life but also to contribute meaningfully to the work of the Church.
During her thanksgiving service held on January 24, a special fundraising effort was organized, and the proceeds were officially presented today to the Moderator, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, at the General Assembly Office in Accra. Mrs. Quartey was accompanied by the Lay Representative of the Osu District to the Ga Presbytery, Mr. Nathaniel Palm, and Dr. Dromor Quartey Palm.
Presenting the funds, Mrs. Quartey expressed profound gratitude to God for sustaining her through the years. She described the donation as her “widow’s mite” and a heartfelt offering given out of love and appreciation for the Church’s vision. She thanked the Church for undertaking such a project and said she considered it a privilege to contribute. She further urged others to rally behind the vision of the Kutunse Project, encouraging members to use personal milestones as opportunities to invest in the growth of the Church.
Receiving the donation, the Moderator expressed deep appreciation to Mrs. Quartey for her selfless gesture, acknowledging her act as a powerful example of faith in action and sacrificial giving. He assured the gathering that the project was progressing steadily and expressed optimism that the conference hall would soon be completed, after which attention would be given to the development of hostel facilities.
Describing her contribution as an inspiring model, the Moderator encouraged members of the Church to actively support the project. He added that with a united front, the project would undoubtedly be a success. Prayers were offered for Mrs. Quartey, asking for God’s continued blessings upon her life and for the grace to celebrate many more birthdays in good health and strength.
