Clerk of General Assembly Commends Ga West Presbytery

The Clerk of General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rev Dr. Godwin Nii Noi Odonkor has commended the Ga West Presbytery of the Church for the tremendous growth six years after it was created.

The Clerk made the commendation at the opening of the just ended 6th Presbytery Session of the Ga West Presbytery held at the Emmanuel Congregation at Dansoman. The Presbytery Session was under the theme; “Jesus Christ, the Light of the world”.

The Rev. Dr. Odonkor commended the Presbytery for keeping the Church alive in spite of all the challenges posed by COVID-19 and other factors. He also commended them for their evangelism agenda, which has resulted in massive church growth.

The Session, which is the highest decision making body of the Presbytery   attracted about 200 delegates and corresponding members from all 17 Pastoral Districts.

The Session at the end of the day took decisions that will guide the activities of the Presbytery in the coming years. It also reviewed activities of the Presbytery for the previous year, planned for the ensuing year and served as a platform for fellowship, interactions and networking among delegates and corresponding members.

The current Chairperson of the Ga West Presbytery is Rev Enoch Adjei Pobee with Rev. Dr. Joseph Kofi Antwi as its Clerk and Mr Benjamin Botwe as the Lay Representative on the General Assembly Council.

The Ga West Presbytery is the 21st Presbytery to be created in the history of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana . Geographically, the Ga West Presbytery (which  was carved-out of the Ga Presbytery) covers all PCG Churches lying to the West of the main Accra-Nsawam road and heading towards Kasoa in the Central  Region.

The Ga West Presbytery is currently made up of 17 Pastoral Districts, 5 Sub-Districts and 1 Mission field.
