The Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) has ordained 9 ministerial probationers at the Cedis Auditorium of the University of Health and Allied Sciences at Ho on Sunday 3rd July 2022. The Ordination service was hosted by the Riis Congregation, Ho in the Volta Presbytery of the PCG.

The Ministerial probationers have completed their two years mandatory probationary training based on which the General Assembly Council of the PCG expressed satisfaction at their work and approved their ordination into the full ordained ministry of the Church.

Preaching the sermon at the well-attended service, the former Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Very Rev Prof  Emmanuel Martey said throughout Biblical history, people have been called and they have answered differently.

He said some inadequate persons were called, sanctified and empowered for their task. He said some other people were called but declined to respond to the call because they do not have the requisite qualifications.

Very Rev Martey therefore urged the ministers to be obedient to their calling and live up to the expectation of the Church and God who has called them.

He cautioned the ministers to prepare themselves for attacks from the enemy. He urged them to continue to trust in the Lord who has called them and victory will be theirs.

Very Rev Prof Martey  admonished the new ministers not to be afraid of the challenges they were going to face in the ministry but look up to God who had called them.

The former Moderator  who officiated the ordination service, asked the newly ordained ministers to selflessly contribute their quota to make the various congregations in the church dynamic.

He asked them to pray always and seek the face of God which, according to him, was the only way to have a complete communion with God.

The former Moderator was assisted by the Clerk of the General Assembly, Rev Dr Godwin Nii Noi Odonkor and some members of the General Assembly Council of the PCG.

The newly ordained ministers are Rev’ds Samuel Offei, Dr Ernest Kwabena Afrifa Anane, Mrs Abena Serwa Mprah Asor, Nathaniel Kingsley Entsie and Daniel Sackey Matey.

The rest are Felix Kojo Abbey- Bossman, Emmanuel Kwame Adofo, Martin Owusu Ansah and DSI Daniel Nyampong Okantey.

Present at the service were some General Assembly Council members.
