Moderator visits Akyem Abuakwa Presbytery


The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Prof. Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante has begun a ten-day pastoral working visit to the Akyem Abuakwa Presbytery from Sunday 20th to Tuesday 19th November 2022.

The Moderator will visit all 26 Pastoral Districts within the Presbytery where District Ministers will present situational reports and give an account of their stewardship

The purpose of the visit is to familiarise himself with the progress of mission work in the Presbytery. The Moderator will also visit educational institutions, pays courtesy calls on political and traditional leadership, dedicate completed projects, and cut sod for the construction of new projects.

The Moderator on Sunday 20th November 2022 attended a thanksgiving service at Kyebi to climax the centenary celebration of the Akyem Abuakwa Presbytery. He also dedicated the newly constructed Presbytery office complex at Kyebi on the same day.


On Monday the Moderator paid a courtesy call on the overlord of the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panyin at the Ofori Panyin Fie (Ofori Panyin Palace) at Kyebi.

On Tuesday he was welcomed by the Presbytery Council led by the Presbytery Chairperson Rev Dr. Seth Kissi at the Ebenezer Congregation, Kyebi.

The Moderator has so far visited the following Pastoral Districts; Apedwa, Kyebi South, Afosu, New Abirem, and Otumi.

Other places visited include Kusi, Anum Asamankese, Asamankese, Osenase, Kwabeng, Akropong, and Tumfa.

Rt. Rev. Prof. Mante also visited the Apedwa Presbyterian Senior High School and the Presbyterian Senior High School at Boadua which will be opened the next academic year.

In all the places the Moderator visited, he encouraged the Agents, Presbyters, and church members to work towards Vision 1.5 which is the church’s core business.

The Moderator is accompanied by the Akyem Abuakwa Presbytery Chairperson Rev Dr. Seth Kissi, the wife of the Moderator, Mrs. Florence Mante, the Public Relations Officer of the Church, Rev George Larbi, Dr. Lawrence Misa Aboagye, Aakyem Abuakwa Presbytery Lay Representative on the General Assembly Council, Rev Dr. Benard Adinkra, Presbytery Clerk and some other Ministers within the Presbytery.
