Moderator of PCG pays courtesy call on Okyehene
The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, (PCG) Rt. Rev Prof. Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante has paid a courtesy call on the overlord of the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panyin, Okyehene at the Ofori Panyin Fie (Ofori Panyin Palace) at Kyebi in the Eastern Region on Monday 21st November 2022.
The courtesy call forms part of the Moderator’s official working visit to the Akyem Abuakwa Presbytery of the Church. The Moderator began a 10- day pastoral working visit to the Presbytery from Sunday 20th to Tuesday 29th November 2022.
The Moderator in a brief speech commended the Okyehene for his strong faith in the Lord and his declaration of Okyeman for Christ.
Right Rev Prof. Mante also commended the Okyehene for his support and contributions to the Presbyterian Church since it was established in the Akyem Abuakwa area.
The Okyenhene, who received the delegation, gave a brief history of the Kingdom and the immense contribution played by the Church to national development.
The Moderator was accompanied by the Akyem Abuakwa Presbytery Chairperson Rev Dr. Seth Kissi, wife of the Moderator, Mrs. Florence Mante, the Public Relations Officer of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rev George Larbi, Akyem Abuakwa Presbytery Lay Representative on the General Assembly Council of the Church, Dr. Lawrence Misa Aboagye, Presbytery Clerk, Rev Dr. Bernard Adinkra, and some Ministers within the Presbytery.
