Leadership of the Ghana Institution of Engineering Pays Courtesy Call on Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana
In a spirit of gratitude and collaboration, the Executive Committee of the Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE) has paid a courtesy call on the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye. The visit, which took place at the Church House, PCG headquarters, was primarily to express their appreciation for the Moderator’s presence at the recent induction ceremony of the Institution’s 53rd President, Ing. Ludwig Annang Hesse.
With the President were the following delegation, Ing. Kwabena Bempong, Immediate Past President of GhIE, Ing. Dr. Patrick Amoah Bekoe, Vice President of GhIE, Mr. Michael Dompreh-Ampofo, Executive Rep. for Professional Engineering Technologist, and Mr. Philip Aheto, Executive Rep. for Engineering Technicians. During the meeting, the GhIE Executive lauded the Moderator’s support, describing his attendance at the induction ceremony as a significant honour that underscored the deep ties between the engineering profession and the faith community in Ghana.
In his remarks, Rt. Rev. Dr. A. N. Opare Kwakye highlighted the importance of ethical leadership and nation-building as values that are championed both by the engineering profession and the Church. He noted that the Presbyterian Church of Ghana’s longstanding contributions to education, infrastructure, and national development align closely with the mission of the Ghana Institution of Engineering.
Rt. Rev. Dr. Opare Kwakye, expressed his delight at the gesture and reaffirmed PCG’s commitment to supporting professional bodies like GhIE in their pursuit of excellence and service to the nation. He Expressed his full confidence in the new President of GhIE, recalling his engagement with him in the Presbyterian Church. Ing. Kofi Hesse happens to be the immediate past Lay Rep. to GAC from the Ga Presbytery, and a remarkable Children’s Service Teacher of the Church. Moderator encouraged the Executive to continue upholding high ethical standards and fostering innovations that would advance Ghana’s development.
Ing. Ludwig Annang Hesse, the newly inducted President, also took the opportunity to personally thank the Moderator for his support and prayers. He assured Moderator to bring to bear his Presbyterian training to bare in his administration. That they will be commitment to promoting professionalism, innovation, and integrity within the engineering fraternity.
The visit concluded with an exchange of goodwill and the reaffirmation of mutual support between the two institutions, reflecting a shared vision for the holistic development of Ghana.
