Another significant step in our global evangelism efforts has been taken with the setting up of a new congregation in Atteridgeville, Gauteng Province, South Africa.
This forms part of the Agenda 2 Million membership expansion strategy. The Department of Mission and Evangelism, in partnership with the PCG Haatso District and the Global Presbyterian Worship Centre, Grace Congregation in Pretoria, led the church planting.
As part of the preparatory activities, a vibrant street evangelism campaign was held in Atteridgeville and Sunnyside, Pretoria, drawing attention and engagement from the local community.
To sustain momentum and nurture spiritual growth, the evangelism team further launched weekly fellowship meetings every Tuesday in Atteridgeville. These gatherings are to raise awareness and foster meaningful connections with residents ahead of the official inauguration of the Atteridgeville Congregation, scheduled for November 2025.
Demonstrating its commitment to mission work, the General Assembly Office donated $3,000 to support rent and other mission-related expenses for the new congregation.
In a related development, the leadership of the South Africa Mission in Pretoria, under the guidance of Rev. Daniel Laryea, has secured a place of worship for the Global Presbyterian Worship Centre, Hope Congregation, in Bethal, Mpumalanga Province.
This development further cements PCG’s presence in South Africa and reflects our unwavering commitment to making disciples of all nations. The expansion into Atteridgeville and Bethal marks a strategic advancement in our international mission, reinforcing our vision of spreading the gospel and building vibrant faith communities worldwide.
