2025 SMT Entrance Exams Begin Nationwide
The 2025 Special Ministerial Training (SMT) Entrance Examination of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana commenced this morning across the country, marking a significant step for aspiring ministers preparing to begin their theological education.
The examination, which comes before a rigorous national interview process, qualifies successful candidates for admission into the Ramseyer Training Centre at Abetifi — the church’s premier seminary for ministerial formation.
English Language, General Paper, Old Testament & New Testament are the papers being written. Hundreds of prospective ministerial trainees from various Presbyteries have been assigned to three main examination centres, strategically located to accommodate candidates from across the country. The zoned centres include:
Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School, Legon – serving candidates from the Akuapem, Akyem Abuakwa, Central, Dangme Tongu, Ga, Ga West, Volta, Western, and West Akyem Presbyteries.
Asante Presbytery Conference Hall, Adum, Kumasi – for candidates from the Asante, Asante Akyem, Asante South, Kwahu, Sefwi, and Sekyere Presbyteries.
Sunyani Technical University, Sunyani – hosting candidates from the Brong Ahafo, West Brong, Northern, and Upper Presbyteries.
Candidates in Europe, North America/Australia Presbyteries are also writing.
