In a stirring call to strong moral leadership, newly inducted Asante South Presbytery Chairperson, Rev. Daniel Brobbey has been charged to be a bold voice against galamsey and other societal wrongs.
The charge came during his induction ceremony at the PCG Ascension Congregation, Obuasi, where the Moderator of the General Assembly of the PCG, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye stated the urgent need for truth-telling and courageous leadership in correcting societal wrongs.
“If we talk about galamsey the way we are talking about it, it will clear us away,” the Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye warned, lamenting the casual approach to the destructive practice of illegal mining. “We are treating it just like anything else,” he added, calling for a more resolute and vocal stance.
Rev. Brobbey was reminded that his calling is divine and demands integrity and fearless advocacy. “Let the word of God rule you. God has called you at a time to provide good quality leadership. Stand for what’s true and right. Speak out boldly. The one who has called you is the one who is above,” the charge continued.
Acknowledging the legacy of his predecessors, Rev. Emmanuel Asare Amoah and Rev. S. T. Donkor, the Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye urged Rev. Brobbey not to rely on human approval but to focus on Christ. “Don’t look at man. You’re called to serve Christ. Your ability to serve well depends on how much Jesus you allow into your ministry. Your big support does not come from me or them; it comes from Jesus.
