Asante South Presbytery Chairperson, Rev. Daniel Brobbey has been inducted into office, making him the third chairperson in the Presbytery. The ceremony, held at the PCG Ascension Congregation, Obuasi, with lots of celebration, was marked by a resounding call to truth and integrity from the Moderator of the General Assembly of the PCG, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye.
In his charge to Rev. Brobbey, the Moderator stressed that the times demand courageous and uncompromising leadership rooted in truth. “You need to stand for truth. You have been called at a time like this to stand for what is true,” he declared, urging the newly inducted Chairperson to be a beacon of truthfulness.
The Moderator further addressed the moral challenges facing the Christ church today. He condemned the practice of simony, where individuals attempt to buy their way into church leadership and warned that such actions undermine the spiritual integrity of the Christian faith.
“Simony is bad. What is wrong is wrong,” he stated firmly. He therefore challenged Rev. Daniel Brobbey to be a prophetic voice in an era where the church risks losing its moral compass. “You have been called by God at a time like this when the Christian church is walking on the path of self-extinction. Be like people who stood for truth despite the opposition,” he urged.
