The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, has urged Christians to remain strong in faith and integrity even in the face of modern-day challenges.

He gave the charge while preaching at the induction service of the new Clerk of the General Assembly, Rev. David Aboagye-Danquah, held at the Most Holy Trinity Congregation, Lashibi. With his sermon titled, “Prepare the Way of the Lord,” the Moderator reminded worshippers that true worship brings transformation.

“If you experience God in worship, you will leave the service a blessed person,” he said. He added that gatherings such as the induction service are opportunities to share fellowship, inspire one another, and sharpen each other’s faith.

Commending the Most Holy Trinity Congregation for the rapid transformation of its church building ahead of the induction, he described the effort as a testimony of dedication.

With parallels from Scripture, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye noted that John the Baptist’s ministry was at a time when evil men were in authority. “John was called upon at a difficult time. In the gloom of the time, John was tasked to prepare the way for the Lord,” he said, encouraging believers to remain faithful despite the challenges of modern life.

“Although there is a lot of evil around us, even in our most difficult period the Lord wants us to continue to place our hope in Him because it is the Lord who is able to rescue us,” he declared. Turning to the newly inducted Clerk, the Moderator encouraged Rev. David Aboagye-Danquah to stay focused on his divine calling.

“There will be difficult times. There will be wonderful times, but there will also be difficult times,” he cautioned. He assured him that “out of many, the Lord appointed you, and the Lord will accompany you.” The induction marked a new chapter in the PCG’s leadership.
