Mary Seyram Akoto, Senior Nursing Officer in Pediatrics at the Assin Praso Presbyterian Hospital, has paid a courtesy call on the Development and Social Services (DSS) office of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) at Church House, Accra.
Mary, who was recently named second runner-up in the Best Nurse Midwife category at the 6th Annual National Dinner and Awards Night of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA), was warmly received by the DSS National Director, Mrs. Rebecca Teiko Sabah.
During the interaction, Mrs. Sabah congratulated her on the prestigious recognition and commended her for bringing honour to the Presbyterian health institutions and the PCG at large. She noted that Mary’s achievement reflects the dedication and professionalism of nurses serving in PCG hospitals across the country.
Mary expressed her gratitude to the leadership of the church for the support she has received in her career journey. She highlighted the importance of mentorship, teamwork, and faith in her professional growth, and pledged to continue serving with excellence in pediatric care at Assin Praso Presbyterian Hospital.
Her visit also underscored the strong link between the PCG’s health institutions and the Development and Social Services Department, which oversees the church’s social and health-related initiatives. Mrs. Sabah assured her of the department’s continuous support and encouraged her to inspire other young nurses to pursue excellence in their work.
