In an all-important gathering at the PCG Ascension Congregation, Obuasi, the Asante South Presbytery’s Education Department has launched its first Planning and Vision Retreat, with a focus on aligning educators and church leaders around a unified mission for school transformation.
The keynote speaker, Rev. Mrs. Mercy Yeboah Anochie delivered a compelling address on the retreat’s theme, “Building a Shared Vision for Quality Education and Godly Leadership.” She stated that progress in Presbyterian schools depends on collective clarity—where teachers, administrators, parents, and church members work in harmony toward shared goals.
She outlined two foundational pillars: Quality Education and Godly Leadership as she described quality education as holistic development, excellence in teaching, character formation, and innovation. Godly leadership, she added, must be marked by integrity, servant-heartedness, spiritual grounding, and visionary thinking.
Interactive workshops explored practical applications, including embedding Christian values in school life, strengthening leadership in administration, and mobilising stakeholder support.
The retreat also reinforced the idea that leadership in education is not just about policy—it’s about spiritual influence, ethical example, and community collaboration. Participants left with a deeper understanding of their role in shaping not only academic success but also the moral and spiritual fabric of those they teach and lead.
