Let’s elevate standards of PCG schools
The Education Department of the Asante South Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana has organised its maiden Planning and Vision Retreat on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at PCG Ascension Congregation, Obuasi, with a bold call to elevate the standards of Presbyterian schools across the region.
Held under the theme “Building a Shared Vision for Quality Education and Godly Leadership,” the retreat brought together headteachers and church leaders to strategise, identify challenges, and forge a unified path toward educational excellence rooted in Christian values.
Presbytery Chairperson Rev. Daniel Brobbey opened the day with a stirring message drawn from Daniel Chapter 1, urging educators to emulate the wisdom and resilience of Daniel and his companions. He challenged participants to pursue “ten times” the level of excellence in wisdom, understanding, and skill—not merely as an academic goal, but as a reflection of godly living.
Rev. Brobbey stated that quality education must go hand-in-hand with godly leadership, forming a synergy that defines the mission of Presbyterian schools. His final remarks, inspired by Matthew 5:13–16, likened educators to “the salt of the earth” and “the light of the world,” calling them to let their influence shine visibly in the lives of their students and communities.
The retreat ended with a renewed sense of purpose and a clear mandate: to exemplify excellence in education and leadership, making a lasting impact in both the classroom and the church.
