The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, has received an official welcome at the Sydney Manse in Australia, marking the beginning of his pastoral visit to the North America–Australia Presbytery (NAAP).
The welcome ceremony, held shortly after his arrival at Kingsford Smith International Airport on Friday, January 23, 2026, was led by the Chairperson of NAAP, Rev. Christian Bekoe Appenteng, and the District Minister for Australia, Rev. Kwadjo Osei Bonsu. Also present were officers and members of the PCG’s Australian congregation, who gathered to receive the Moderator with warmth and gratitude.
The visit, which spans January 23 to February 2, is part of the Moderator’s annual pastoral itinerary. It is aimed at strengthening fellowship among diaspora congregations, deepening pastoral care, and reaffirming the Church’s commitment to global mission.
The Moderator’s presence in Australia has been described as uplifting and timely by ministers and congregants. The welcome event set the tone for a series of worship services, leadership meetings, and dedication ceremonies. The Moderator’s visit underscores the PCG’s vision of building bridges with its global family, ensuring that members abroad remain connected to the church’s mission of spreading the gospel and nurturing discipleship.
