Special Ministerial Training (SMT) students, Intake 2025, at the Ramseyer Training Centre (RTC), Abetifi, have taken a bold step in strengthening communication and visibility at the Centre with the launch of a newsletter, Ramseyer Herald.

The full-colour, eight-page publication was unveiled today with support from RTC management. Ramseyer Herald is designed to chronicle campus life, report on key events, and highlight the spiritual and academic journey of trainees.

Put together by the students with management’s support, the Ramseyer Herald will additionally serve as a vital link between present and past students of RTC, offering probationers and ordained ministers a window into the life and mission of the PCG’s premier ministerial training institution.

Launching the quarterly newsletter, the Brong Ahafo Presbytery Chairperson, Rev. Benjamin Appiah, applauded the students for their initiative and urged them to see communication as an extension of ministry. He noted that Ramseyer Herald will not only inform but also inspire, serving as a source of encouragement and theological reflection.

In its maiden edition, the newsletter features an editorial titled “Ramseyer Herald Is Born”, which situates the publication within the rich legacy of Johannes Ramseyer and the Basel Missionaries who established Abetifi as a “Hill of Vision.”

The editorial underscores RTC’s enduring role as a pillar of ministerial formation, a place where minds are sharpened, character shaped, and spirits fortified for service. The edition also reports on RTC Director Rev. Gideon Beunor Puplampu’s call for more support.

Other highlights include the graduation of 110 catechists, the awarding of the prestigious Director’s Award to Rev. Stephen Berko, and a thought-provoking seminar by Rev. Dr. Ebenezer Teye Amanor-Lartey, who challenged trainees to embrace their prophetic role in shaping Ghana’s national life.

With a cover price of GHS20, the first ten copies were purchased for GHS1000 by the students while RTC Management’s also purchased same for GHS500. With its blend of news, features, and reflections, Ramseyer Herald promises to be vibrant, refreshing, and informative, keeping the PCG community updated on RTC campus life.
