The Ebenezer Congregation, Sydney, Australia, has dedicated its new place of worship in a colourful service led by the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye. The event, organised under the auspices of PCG International, was held on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. (AEDT / 12:00 a.m. GMT) at 24–27 Crescent Street, Holroyd, New South Wales.

The Welcome Service and Chapel Dedication formed part of the Moderator’s pastoral visit to the North America/Australia Presbytery (NAAP), marking the final lap of his ten-day tour. The service was graced by the Chairperson of NAAP, Rev. Christian B. Appenteng, and the PCG Australia District Minister, Rev. Kwadwo Osei-Bonsu, who hosted the occasion.

The dedication of the new chapel comes as a landmark moment for the Ebenezer Congregation, symbolising growth, resilience, and the strengthening of PCG’s witness in Australia. The Moderator, in his sermon, emphasised the importance of building spaces of worship that not only serve as sanctuaries for prayer but also as centres of mission, fellowship, and community transformation.

The service brought together congregants, leaders, and guests from across Sydney, who joined in thanksgiving and prayer for the future of the congregation. The Moderator’s presence was seen as a source of encouragement and affirmation of the Church’s commitment to nurturing its diaspora communities.

With the Sydney dedication marking the conclusion of his pastoral engagements in North America and Australia, the Moderator is expected back in Ghana early this week. His visit has a success, strengthening ties with overseas congregations and reaffirming the global mission of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana.
