Moderator back from NAAP pastoral visit
The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), Rt. Rev. Dr. Nana Opare Kwakye, has returned to Accra after a ten-day pastoral visit to the North America/Australia Presbytery (NAAP).
He arrived back from Sydney on Tuesday afternoon, ending a mission tour that strengthened ties between the church in Ghana and its diaspora communities. During his visit, the Moderator led the services and dedicated the newly completed Ebenezer Congregation Chapel in Sydney.
The service in Sydney was marked by joy and thanksgiving as ministers, elders, and members of the Ghanaian Presbyterian community in Australia gathered to celebrate the milestone. In his sermon, the Moderator stated the importance of unity, discipleship, and mission, reminding congregants that the Presbyterian identity must be preserved and lived out faithfully, even in diaspora contexts.
The pastoral tour also included strategic meetings with NAAP leadership. Discussions centered on evangelism, youth ministry, and media outreach, with renewed commitments to deepen collaboration between NAAP and the PCG headquarters in Accra.
The Moderator encouraged leaders to embrace innovation in communication, noting that social media and digital platforms have become today’s mission field where the church must proclaim Christ and nurture disciples.
Beyond official engagements, the Moderator spent time in fellowship with Ghanaian communities abroad, urging them to remain connected to the mission and witness of the PCG. His presence was warmly received, with congregants expressing gratitude for the pastoral care and leadership he provided during the visit.
