At the leadership seminar held as part of the 2026 National Crusade, Minister of the Kutunse District, Rev. Dr. Chris Baah Nartey, has observed that growth is a natural characteristic of every living organism, and the church, as the body of Christ, is no exception.
Rev. Dr. Nartey explained that when growth ceases, it becomes a matter of grave concern. “Any living organism that is not growing signals a problem, often linked to disease or death,” he noted, urging the congregation gathered at Bantama-Kumasi to reflect deeply on the vitality of their spiritual communities.
The seminar, themed “Growing the Church in Our Time,” spanned two days and featured thought-provoking teachings on the importance of growth. Drawing parallels between biological life and the church, Rev. Dr. Nartey cautioned that any church that fails to grow risks stagnation and eventual decline.
He emphasised that equipping leaders with strategies to strengthen and expand the mission in contemporary times is imperative. Importantly, he clarified that church growth is not merely about numerical increase but about ensuring that the presence and influence of God overshadow His people and transform lives.
Rev. Dr. Nartey further explained that growth is designed to subdue lands for God and rescue lost souls, thereby fulfilling the church’s mission of spreading the Gospel. The seminar concluded on Thursday with an interactive question-and-answer session, where participants sought clarification and shared practical insights on how to grow the church in today’s context.
